clonazepam, diazepam and paradox reactions

Posted by sdb on April 30, 2009, at 3:48:54

what I've heard is especially from clonazepam and to a lesser degree diazepam can cause paradoxical reactions. clonazepam seems to give a 'blue', bad feeling where anxiety or ocd like symptoms can be increased.
So, benzo yes, but a clear diagnosis if anxiety with depression or something else combined or anxiety isolated.
Especially that low dosages of benzos can increase anxiety is not clear for me from a neurobiochemical/physiological standpoint. This is often seen in anesthesia.

Did you ever have such paradoxical reaction to clonazepam, diazepam etc. ?
