I thought it was just me for a while. But nope, sure enough, every single time I start a drug with norepinephrine reuptake inhibition properties, my interpersonal sensitivity/rejection sensitivity aspects of social anxiety get worse. Even on tramadol. So I will be steering clear of those for now.

> Ya, I notice the extra sensitivity, emotions all over the board, quite often too when on a norepinephrine drug. Right now I am on imipramine as an add-on to fluoxetine, and having some of the same issues I had with high dose Effexor XR. It feels like what I would imagine as the male version of PMS. (with all due respect :) But I seem to need a bit of norepinephrine stimulation, which as long as it doesn't spill over into anxiety or triggers a manic episode, helps me with my "avoident personality disorder" problems.

Benzo's are probably the best tx, IMHO, especially Xanax, around the 1mg three times a day dose. If I am at home, and not going out (i.e. driving or to work or whatever) I can take 2 to even 3 mg of Xanax (only once in a blue moon) and it just relaxes me, maybe even into a bit of a 'drugged' haze, like no other. And I've been on benzos for about 12 years, and I still can get that effect! But, I almost never do that, and usually I end up falling asleep after that high a dose. This is what I call my "big, red, temporary relief" button, for days when everything is just HORRIFIC. I think we all deserve one of these. I've used it once this year. For me, it seems better then smoking pot, as I really hate the "smoke" part of it all.(I get a kind of "dirty" feeling, what I imagine would be similar if smoking tobacco or anything else.)
