I sometimes trigger a manic episode when I discontinue Nardil too abruptly. I had no manic symptoms at all a few months ago when I came off Nardil in order to switch to Parnate.
First of all, I hope that you continue to have successful treatment on Parnate :)As far as I know, the abilify does it for me. I took a dose last night, and I felt okay today. A little shaky, and somewhat having to bite my tongue. a little restless (not akasthesia, however), but not overly drowsy or whatnot.
I have been on this cocktail since April
300mg wellbutrin
100mg zoloft
300mg lamictal
(ambien, sonata, xanax for the dentists)
And 5 or 10mg of abilify also. I discontinued abilify in August. It was fine for the most part, but gradually the feelings of craziness came back. Therapist assures me that I am not "acting" crazy, but in the last 2 weeks I have been socially reckless and have been not sleeping very well (I don't WANT to sleep-- which is Key, here)So, hypomania.
Remind me in 2 weeks to post an update. pdoc said it would take about 10 days to reach steady state and have effects.
