In reply to Quit Nardil, back on Celexa. Strange side effect., posted by Girlnterrupted78 on June 26, 2008, at 17:50:08
I just realized that this muscle tension in the neck, throat and jaw appears to be a common side-effect of Celexa that I never knew about.I found this old thread:
Painful stiff neck from Celexa, any advice?

http://www.dr-bob.org/babble/20051003/msgs/563558.htmlWhat I don't understand is, I was on Celexa for 5 years before starting Nardil, and I never EVER experienced this side-effect.
Now all of a sudden I go back to Celexa and I start having it! How could this be? No matter how hard I try to relax my neck muscles, it is the inside of the neck/throat and the inner part of my jaw that is involuntarily tense.
Geez. I wish I had never tried Nardil. It almost ruins my life, made me gain tons of weight and now it ruined Celexa too.
If anyone knows how to get rid of this tension, I'd really appreciate any advice. Does it go away after the first weeks, or is it a permanent side-effect?
Any replies would be greatly appreciated.
