> Well, Robert - I;m going to try to drag my lazy rear into the gym later this afternoon. I have self-diagnosed myself with adrenal fatigue after reading some other babbler posts, like beauberry. I'd never heard of it before, but it sounds exactly like what I'm experiencing. Could be the NE stimulation I get from the Ixel (and the 1.5 years of wellbutrin before that) has taxed my poor adrenals. Well, I certainly don't want to stop taking the Ixel or Provigil right now. Mentally and emotionally I've never been happier or more productive. But by golly I am drained physically. So.

And after reading that exercise (hard, like the running) stimulates the adrenals (maybe too much for me, which is why I am out of commission for two days after a used-to-be-routine 3 mile run) I am going to try GRI - gradual re-introduction of exercise. So the goal is to get to the gym and at least walk on the treadmill for 30 min, maybe do some abs. Start small. Man, I haven't exercised in over a month and this is SO not like me. So, we'll see how it goes. Thanks for asking, and good luck with your Provigil trial!

>Hi Atmlady,
I also read posts about adrenal fatigue and it is all too familiar to me (have to put so much hard effort in even a short-distance run).
The provigil made a difference though 1 1/2 weeks ago which could mean I am on to something (last weekend I had to stop running after a few rounds bc I bruised a calf muscle); maybe it would work out that way for you as well.
I run as much as the benefits outweigh the cons (pain and overly tiredness (like you ... for something like 3 days)).
I go to an athletics court with the mindset that I will return if I cannot (for whatever reason) run ... I reason it is better than not even trying; for me this reasoning works :-) but I guess everyone has his/her own tricks :-P.Interesting what you said about Isocort, I will definitely google it .... :-). Thanks!
Good luck at the gym !
