Just a note from clinical studies at pubmed...

It has been proven that early improvement on a med is predictive of response, while the lack of early improvement is predictive of nonresponse. Also, roughly 15% of people who try a med get worse very quickly. This is all clinical stuff out of pubmed. Of course, some people with no early response do have a great response maybe 2 months later. It happens. The odds just aren't in their favor, but it happens sometimes. But when you get worse, that is a clear cut indication to stop the offending med immediately.

So please do not feel like it is hopeless.

I do not know your history or your symptoms. All I can say generally is maybe it is time to think outside the box. That is, try things that have not been tried, things that act differently than meds you have tried. If all your meds for example have been neurotransmitter boosting meds, such as reuptake inhibitors, forget those and look at other meds instead. Consider things you never thought about before. Things that maybe don't even have any reputation for being used on your symptoms. Example, dopamine agonists. They are for Parkinsons, but also show good results for tough-to-treat depression. If your thyroid numbers are normal (all of them, not just TSH), well try some T3+T4 anyway.

I agree with you the hospital is the last place one wants to be. If one is suicidal, then yes get to the hospital. Otherwise, there is little they can do in the short time you are there. A psych ward setting in my experience is not conducive to healing.

Do you have amalgam fillings? Ever had them? I'm just wondering about heavy metal toxicity. Not likely, I realize, but hey, I randomly ask everyone with serious symptoms, and out of them all 3 people have actually said "yes" and 3 of them went on to be diagnosed as mercury toxic and had their amalgams removed and did detox per Amalgam Illness protocol and are brand new people with no need for meds at all. It is a fair question to ask if you have amalgams.
