I used to feel the same way, because I am bipolar, but my p-doc convinced me to see a psychologist after I broke up with my boyfriend of 5 years. It turns out that my psychologist has helped me immensely. It's absolutely no substitute for meds, but it can be great add-on therapy, especially when meds aren't working as well as they should. My psychologist has helped me learn coping skills that really do help me. That being said, as soon as I am stabilized, I am going to give her up because she is so expensive and insurance only covers 20 mental health visits a year...and that includes both my psychologist and my psychiatrist! I have to be sure to save up my visits so that I can go see Dr. Hutto!Best of luck to you, kered! =)
