Yes, Periactin is very sedating Fred - its main use with Nardil is that it blocks 5-HT2 receptors, preventing Nardil from overstimulating them which is the cause of the anorgasmia. I can't remember why, something to do with dopamine being downregulated, perhaps the D2 receptors (?) since cabergoline (which is pro-orgasmic and can eliminate the male refractory period) is an agonist of D2 receptors. I'm wondering if there's an axis of some sort i.e. a 5-HT2/D2 seesaw where you press hard on one end and the other goes up? Maybe.
Some people add Wellbutrin to Nardil for its stimulant and pro-sexual effects. I've been wondering if you can add reboxetine since it's a clean med and I'm doing well on it so far. Wellbutrin should be fine though. I think some of the noradrenergic TCAs might add to the grogginess and cognitive impairment, so my vote would be for Wellbutrin/reboxetine (if it's safe). Some people add stims like Ritalin and Dexedrine, but they're more risky.
