> I haven’t tried any of the ones you mentioned- I shall mention these to my doctor. I'm allergic to Benadryl, sadlyThat's sort of ironic since Benadryl is used for allergies, but I understand. However, it doesn't mean you won't be allergic to other anticholinergics; discuss this with your doctor. They're stronger than propranolol unless you take a fair amount which it seems you get rather tired on -- although if you build up to a dose you may not get as tired. There is also pindolol or nadolol.
> I'm taking bromcriptine for bipolar actually but it isn’t working. I was on Mirapex (pramipexole) a drug very similar to bromocriptine and it worked really well for my agitation and anxiety. It also helped alot with the tremors. But sadly I gained tons of weight on it- more than I even gained on olanzapine. That's a very absurd and rare reaction. So I'm now trying bromocriptine in the hope that it won’t make me a tub but it is proving to be pretty useless for mood problems.

> Propranolol hardly works as I cannot tolerate more than 20mg without being really drowsy. When you say you take 80mg, do you space it out over the day? Is it the type of drug that has to build up in the blood to work properly? I always thought it was a one shot, SOS kind of drug which is why I only take it when I'm in bad shape as opposed to 3 times daily like prescribed. Maybe that’s why it is having little effect.
I'm a bit tolerant so if 20mg is making you drowsy, don't take 80mg at a time like I do PRN (though the upper limit is around 240mg a day, give or take).
