Ok - given my UTI problems with SSRIs and drugs like Topamax and Zonegran I am not on to Abilify, which seems to be working ok. My concern is that what happens to my body in the long term? I sometimes have to take Cogentin to quiet the shakiness inside from the Abilify. Could this become permanent in 10 years?
Is Abilify a better drug for the long term, than say a low dose of Effexor and Wellbutrin (which was a good combo for me), plus Klonopin for sleep?
I don't think we know yet about the long term side effects of Abilify.
Do we know what the long term side effects of Effexor/Wellbutrin are?
My only complaint about Effexor is the short half-life. Cymbalta isn't an option for me - it actually makes me depressed. I think I need the small dose of serotonin that I get from Effexor.
I'm just curious, as after 18 years taking SSRIs I can't take them anymore becuase they hurt my bladder. It makes me wonder what I am doing to my body with Abilify over the next several years.
The better of two evils?
