Lamictil - mouth...

I'm thinking of trying Lamictil again. It has been a few years. I used the sample pack back then and by day 10 my mouth felt like it was going to break out in blisters.
Can't remember what the dose was.
I'm wondering if I tried it again and started with a really tiny dose and worked up slowly if I could avoid the mouth issues?
The Congentin I tried tonight with the Abilify is making me light headed and dizzy. My husband thinks I should just switch to another med.
