Klonopin is the current "it" benzo, so lots of people are taking it (social phobia, schizophrenia..whatever). It does help with mood stabilization; it seems that if there's a hypomanic/anxious component to bipolar, shrinks RX it pronto...I think its a "2-birds-with-one-stone" kind of thing. But I dont think its common to use it as the only mood stabilizer.
