Hi,
I've been reading a lot of stuff on the internet about future research for depression and am finding it depressing in itself. They seem to be exploring so many avenues, then these meds could take years to get approval and then (if I'm still alive and ill) I'll have to go through the same process with the new meds. I could be 60 before I find a cure and then have emphysymia because of the fact that I've chain smoked.
I've read about them doing research on drugs that trigger neurogenesis more quickly, drugs that lower brain levels of CRH, drugs that lower glutamate.
I'm just wondering which of these seem the most promising and when is it likely to be out on the market?
Also, I saw a report about Nemifitide looking really promising but they stopped doing studies on it because it was toxic to beagles. Anyway I rang the drug company making it and the man on the end of the phone told me that they should be starting trials on it again later this year. Anyone got any news on it?
Thanks......Denise
