I became very moody and irritable on ritalin, but I don't think that in itself is evidence of bipolarity. I have a sleep disorder, though, which makes things more complicated- my fatigue level has always been too high to express any hypomania.
Do you think you might be unipolar? If not, what are the specific symptoms, besides a manic reaction to AD's, that make you think not?
And by the way, I agree that it is very unfortunate that gepirone was not approved. Not only does gepirone lack the D2-blocking property of buspirone, it also exhibits less alpha-2 blocking, due to a higher parent-to-metabolite ratio in vivo. This would have been even more marked with the ER formulation.-z
