Hi there - I've been taking Celexa for about 4 years or so and I started out at 20mg, then went to 40mg, then started going down til I went off of it. That lasted for about a week and then I had a complete meltdown and went back on it. I've been taking anywhere between 60-80mg celexa for the past 3 months and its helped, but I feel like I'm on the verge of having to change meds completely. I've never had any horrible side effects from the celexa; in fact, I found it more user-friendly than zoloft, which is what I started out on in 1998. Don't be afraid of going up in dose; I used to be worried about that, but I decided that if it works for me, I'll do it.
I have OCD and anxiety problems and a couple months ago I discovered some yahoo groups for OCD. There's one called pure_o_ocd for people with mainly thought obsessions, an ocd support group, an ocd relationships group and another one that I forget the name of. You should check those out. Since they deal strictly with OCD, I found them much more informative than Dr. Bob's site. Also, in the OCD Support group, Dr. Michael Jenike and Dr. James Claiborn and daily posters and they're very, very knowledgeable in OCD, its treatment and its history.
