My dr is givin me lamictal..anyone know about it?

Im a lil worried about taking it as a mood stabilizer seeing as its main purpose is treating epileptic seizures.. im also worried about this one small rare side effect..GOING DEAF! :/ Anything you know about it or someone who has taken it pls share? Thanks
