Don't do Ritalin if you can get your doctor to prescribe Provigil. It is much smoother (less of the rollercoaster effect) than Ritalin. I couldn't get through the day without it. Once you get used to it the side effects are next to nothing. You just stay awake. Ritalin used to pick me up and then drop me something awful. Provigil has a pretty long half life so the let down is much more gradual. I can even sleep if I want to on Provigil.
