Montezuma's Revenge and Lexapro / Celexa

Posted by Swede on May 17, 2004, at 17:22:37

I tried a small dose of Celexa for three months, for Dysthymia. Responded well initially, but experienced incredible somnolence after the first month, while only on 20 mg. Also developed diarrhea problem. Was switched to Lexapro a few days ago, but immediately have diarrhea. I'm only taking a quarter of a pill. Although it is too early to tell, I'm guessing I will sleep deeply on Lexapro but will be more alert during the day than when on Celexa. Other options mentioned to me have included Zoloft, or Prozac (too scary, I won't try) or a third option that I don't recall at this moment. Which one will help with Dysthymia but not cause somnolence or diarrhea? Or, should I stay on Lexapro longer and see if diarrhea goes away? I'm told it is a sign the medicine isn't right for me. Thank you in advance for your input.
