Hello,

When taken regularly, antipsychotics tend to increase the number of dopamine receptors in the brain, as the brain compensates for the dopamine-blocking action of AP's.
Going off an AP suddenly can cause a "dopamine overload" that can cause all sorts of weird symptoms.

The solution is to ALWAYS taper when going off an AP. That will let your brain get used to the normal (unmedicated) amounts of dopamine stimulation.

Hope this helps.
