Hi:
First, Wellbutrin SR is NOT a good anti-depressant if your depression is 'severe' form. This med., W.B. is most likely used for 'ADD' rather than anti-depressant,.... at least in my case, BP II with ultra rapid cycler.
For my depression that is quite 'severe,' I've been on 5 mg. Zyprexa, Lithium along with Serzone/Nefadozone. Lithium and Serzone both have A.D. effect, but not quite strong enough to alleviate my depression, ... then Zyprexa seems 'augument' to those two meds.
The reason why I am on W.B. is my ADD that seems coming from or partly the depressive side of Bp. All those four meds. I need to alleviate my symptoms and so far so good.In my suggestion, you should NOT wait that long, two or three wks.(?) to see the pdoc. You need to call as for 'Emergency Basis,' because 'suicidal thoughts' is regard to E.R. /immediate attention.
H.G.
