Thanks guys for your replies!
Bookgurl, you are correct. The aminos act as a decoy for my t-cells. Theory is that they simulate myelin and my t-cells attack them rather than the real deal. I guess though, I figure if my disease is not active than maybe I just have a surplus of the good guys. It's helpful to know that people have heard of L-Tyrosine as useful in depression. By the way, I know my myelin has been attacked from an MRI showing a lot of little scars--and a few biggies in the corpus callosum--in my brain. As for neurotransmitter damage, I thought we were all operating on the theory that we have inadequate release of certain neurotransmitters. Maybe in my case my brain just gets the signals crossed because I lack insulation (myelin) in certain areas. I wonder if more people have depression and mood disorders caused by a virus--as MS is thought to be--than realize it. I don't have a lot of motor symptoms cause no sclerosis on my spine, thank God. Thanks again for your responses!
