> I'd like to know if anyone is taking amisulpride with stimulant drugs like ADD medicines such as adderall and such and what interaction it causes, does amisulpride make them more potent, does it make you want to take MORE of them adderalls at all? I've been on amisulpride now for about 6 months and the very first day I took my first dose I couldn't sleep for days and had no appetite, it was like being on methamphetamine, yes i've used meth before.. (on and off over a year ago now I had a little habbit going) but now it has very little side effects the amisulpride, and I'm a little bit worried that I'm becoming more and more wanting dopamone type stimulants for my depression and anxiety..and unfortunatly most dopamone increasing drugs are illegal, it's not that I want to take stuff like amphetamines, coke or speed or such, of course I don't, its just since being on amisulpride I've not been interested in any other medecine besides dopomines meds, and increasing the dop to feel better! I know that amisulpride makes dopamine last longer in the brain, and that may have been the reason why when i first took it I had so much, I had insomnia but I am starting to think that playing around with dopamine levels with drugs might not be a good idea for too long! and my doc says I have to say on it for at least 12 months as a maintence dose....but I did a little experient without my doctor knowing and stoped taking my amisulpride for two weeks and I felt very TIRED, now speaking from a young person who has experince in the past with illegal dopamine drugs one of the major side effects of withdrawl from them is lethargy, ie, sleep and DEPRESSION...I know in America you don't even get precribed Amisulpride or many dopamine drugs and maybe your doctors know all this stuff, I'm from Australia...I will say my social anxiety and depression and negative.. ( I hate saying the word..) but psychotic sympmtomps have also descresed to pretty much zero while on the amisulpride but I bet if 90 per cent of you made your dopamine increase with a drug you would feel better too, but when it decreases again you feel 100 times WORSE again...its like being in love, that raises your dopamine through the roof! but then how do you feel when you get dumped or your gf or bf leaves you for the garbage man..damn, that would suck pretty bad, and thats how I feel trying to get off the amisulpride.....dopamine is just too sensitive to control with drugs I am starting to feel, I mean it seems dopamine levels should be left alone to naturally do what it does, instead of trying to be controlled with drugs.......I mean do you people ever wonder that maybe we're not really sick that the way we feel up their is actually normal sometimes, obviously not all the time, this is just how I am feeling with dopamine, and all the shit we try to control chemically sometimes with drugs..and to become what, everyone a HAPPY smiley free loving hippie? obviously thats not reality the world is full of pain and is a vicious place, why should we humans be any different than the rest of nature? anyway..I'm totally getting off track.. and I would like to hear from AndrewB as I know he is knowledgeable in the dopamine stuff and anyone ELSE AT ALL who has anything to say about it, well, say something!<

Dopamine is a key element in many depressive illnesses, not just serotonin and NE, IMHO.

Its too bad that the governments, particulary the USA, of this world seem pro-dopamine drugs as "getting high", when it can sometimes just be "getting normal".

No I am not talking about Cocaine, meth, speedor other illegal drugs.

In 1985, Merital was a great Dopaminergic med, but the USA decided that it was "too dangerous", becuase of a VERY FEW people that had blood disorders blamed on its use.

Go figure !!!
