Prozac was the first AD prescribed for my unipolar depression over 10 years ago. After a couple of years on being on prozac only, it no longer was effective (poop out factor), so my pdoc suggested I take desipramine to enhance prozac's effectiveness. This combo worked for a couple of years and the same thing happened (the poop out factor). So my pdoc suggested I take zoloft in place of the prozac along with the desipramine and that combo was effective another couple of years. I have tried celexa, effexor, paxil, elavil, wellbutrin, etc. These were either ineffective or intolerable. Currently I am on 100mg prozac, 90mg remeron and 400mg of lamictal and I have never felt better since I first started taking AD's. I hope this info will make you feel better about taking AD's. Hang in there!

I was on effexor xr for 4 years and it worked well but I guess after a while it didn't work as well. With the prozac I seem to have dry eyes and tiredness all the time. The tiredness is a little better and so is being nasious (I can't spell). Has anyone else had similar effects.
