Hello Aires,
It sounds like you are bipolar. If you are, then lamictal is an obvious choice for you since you have been on zoloft since 1997. I have taken zoloft for 2 years with desipramine and alternated with prozac and desipramine for two years back and forth, until the combo pooped out and I had to try other A/D's. I have tried wellbutrin, celexa, paxil, effexor, elavil, etc. I have been on A/D's for 12 years now. They all either pooped out or was not effective.
I read where a pdoc discovered that lamictal worked great in treatment resistant depression both bipolar and unipolar. So give it a try. I am on my 8th week of 300mgs lamictal along with 100mgs prozac and 60mgs of remeron and I noticed a dramatic lifting of my depression in my 6th week and I am feeling better then ever. I had no noticeable side effects except for a slight headache and dry mouth the first week or so. You will never know until you try. Good luck.

> Hi everyone, I read your messages b/c a google search on lamictal led me to this site. I was diagnosed in '97 and have been stable on depakote and zoloft ever since. Small dips once in a while, but lately i've been feeling a lot worse. I call myself a waste of space. Anyway, my doctor mentioned switching to lamictal and i'm hesitant. What if it makes me feel worse? Any thoughts
