Sorry to hear about your friend, she is lucky to be alive. It's fortunant she was able to get to hospital in time. That is an important point you brought up. I think a full physical is very important for anyone considering anti-depressants (or any prescribed medication) to make sure of proper health. I have been on many, many anti-depressants over the years-and knock wood- I am very healthy otherwise. I get a full physical every year for myself and because I am ON meds. Psychotropic drugs are NOT candy in any shape or form and should be taken very, very seriously when being given to people. Many U.S. doctors dispense them too freely without finding out in great detail what people's symptoms are so they often aren't even in the ballpark for finding the proper med for his/her needs.
Anyway, best of luck in continuing to conquer your anxiety.
