> I am battling depression...in Jan.03, I had to have a double masctemony. I was fine with this until my oncologolist put me on armidex, to get rid of any hormones my body would make....I took this from Feb through April, then quit when I realized it was causing depression, I had been on Celexa 10 mg. for 2 years because of a similar incident. My GP put me on 20 mg of lexepro. My question is.Is this too much? when should I get some relief? I have been on it only 5 days.

From monitoring posts here, I would say most people start out at lower dosage, I started at 5mg, some even start at 2.5mg. Initial SE's can be severe for some, cutting down on dosage sometimes helps w/SE's. SE's can last as long as 4-6 weeks, but others have no SE's or very minor ones. Literature says it may take 6-8 weeks to feel *benefits*, that's how long it took for me. Best of Luck to you!~~~8|8
