In reply to What if I can't sleep during a sleep test????, posted by jerrympls on April 13, 2003, at 1:06:58
I have to chuckle. I had the same problem. In fact, I was so nervous the night before my sleep test that I couldn't sleep! So then the test came, and I got myself all psyched up--very nervous, but okay--and they sent me home due to snow.
I scheduled another trip, this time on the spur of the moment. I called, they had a cancellation, I took it. I didn't have time to get nervous the night before because there was no night before!
But it snowed again, so I said forget it.
I have not been back. I am too afraid that I won't sleep, and it will be a waste of time.
But I have insomnia. Apnea is way more serious.
My suggestion to you is to ask the lab to call you the day of a cancellation. The less you think about it, the better.
Good luck. : )>
