> Dear Jumpy,
> Could you share with me how you're feeling through the ECT treatments. My husband is undergoing unilateral non dominant ECT. He's had 2 treatments so far, this past Monday and Wednesday. He had a headache after the second one. So far no significant memory loss (except for not remembering the 2nd treatment itself). But today he has felt incredibly anxious, that agitated feeling in the stomach and chest, unable to relax, just ruminating, feeling very unsettled. For the past two nights he's taken Ambien 10mg to sleep since he is unable to sleep or get into a peaceful place. Of course, this was the nature of his depressive state (anxious, sleepless). He seemed to feel relief after the first treatment but now we're confused. I know everyone's experience is different. But it might help to hear more specifics about how you felt after your first three treatments if you don't mind sharing.

Hello,

I have had 3 treatments thus far ... I felt some brighting of my mood after the 2nd and 3rd treatments ... my anxiety has remained constant ... ECT is not very effective for panic/generalized anxiety unless it is "part" of the depression. So I don't expect my panic anxiety to improve at all. I have had headaches and nausea after each treatment ..... mild memory loss as well.

I hope my depression will resolve after a few more treatments ... I will probably be placed back on lithium and a TCA with Klonapin after the ECT .... although I have done best with nardil in the past.

Take care

Jumpy
