The benefits sort of snuck up on me over a 6-12 month period though it may be different for others. I think that because there was a very gradual improvement in my symptoms I was not even aware of it. Sort of like your not aware of yourself ageing when you see yourself in the mirror every day until you look at a photo of yourself from several years ago.
You may get improvements within 6-8 weeks. For me the benefits became apparent after 6-12 months. I knew Glucosamine was working when I stopped taking it for a while and my knees worsened. Second time round I felt an improvement within 8 weeks of taking it again.
I also get a worsening of my symptoms if I drop my dose and once went backwards when I purchased a different brand to what had been working for me.
Therefore, if you have never taken it before I would recommend persisting with at least 1500mg per day for 6-12 months if you don't see any improvement really quickly, though 2000mg was the dosage that worked for me!
