My GP wants me to taper off Celexa over 2 weeks (from 20 mg/day) to wellbutrin SR start at 150 in am for a week starting the 3rd week and then 150 am and afternoon for the 4th week. I take Celexa for Panic and I have experienced wt. gain (about 25 lbs) Trying Wellbutrin to get the weight off and hoping it doesnt increase panic attack frequency.

I would be very watchful. WB tends to aggravate anxiety in most folks (myself included). It sounds like your doctor is more concerned with the weight gain issue. WB does tend to cause weight loss. If you were taking Celexa *only* for panic and you are switching to WB I would also ask your doctor for some Klonopin in case you experience any breakthrough panic. If that does happen, you would probably have to find something else other than WB.
