Hey, congrats on the braces!!! I just got braces a few months ago at age 33 and am having my baby canines removed on Monday. It's exciting to finally be doing something that I've wanted for so long.

Unfortunately, I don't know much about Effexor's effect on coagulation. My knowledge of coagulation disorders is limited to the laboratory tests (I'm a lab tech.) and the transfusions that are required in cases of severe diseases like disseminated intravascular coagulation and thrombotic thrombocytopenic purpura. There are a few tests that you may want to have to assess the extent of your coagulation deficiency. One would be a platelet count and another one would be a PT (prothrombin time) and APTT (activated partial thromboplastin time). The PT and APTT usually done together (you don't do one without the other) are used to tell if you are low on one or more coagulation factors whose job it is to make fibrin, the network of fibers that form a clot. I'm just throwing this out at you. I don't know what doctors actually do in cases like yours, but it makes sense to me that you might want to know the extent of the deficiency so that you would know what your risk is of serious bleeding episodes.
