First of all, Dump your md and go to a pdoc. I know how how you feel about depersonalization feeling, but i dont know why it would be caused by zoloft. This happened to me on gabartil. i felt like i wasnt even existing, like in a dream worlds. Very scary.
Im on 50mg of zoloft along with remeron 30mg at bed and klonopin 1mg in the day with some xanax.
Titrating zoloft upward will spark anxiety in persons like your self and I. When i bumped my dose to 50mg i felt anxiety, but i took .5mg of xanxax with it and it helped.
tommorrow im going up to 75mg of zoloft and staying at .5mg of xanax. Hopefully the xanax will counteract any axiety from zoloft.
The theraputic rage for zoloft is 100mg. I suffer from extreme social phobia, panic and anxiety disorder and sleep disorder. From what im gathering, esp from 3 beers who is a savior and very smart, 100mg of zoloft with 1-2 mg of klonopin will wipe out social phobia, panic and axiety.
I also take remeron. REMRON is a dream for people with sleep disorders. Also remeron couteracts the bad side effects from SSRIS.I bought a book called clical handbook of psychotropic drugs. ITS the bomb. It breaks down every drug and what neurotransmitter it hits etc.
Zoloft at high doses seems to kick in dopamine reuptake. I feel that zoloft at 100mg must be augmented with a benzo for people with panic/anxiety disorder. Go to a pdoc and ask him about trying this combo:Remeron 30mg (great for sleep, anxiety)
100mg of zoloft (mood and social phobia) Anxiety in the long run.
Xanax or klonopin ( panic anxiety) 1-2 mg dailyafter a while, just as 3 beers noted, adding a psychostimulant such as dexadrine or adderal may help if you dont have motivation, instead of drinking coffee or using stimulants. 3 beers noted that 5mg of dexadrine causes less anxiety than a cup of coffee and makes him feel more outgoing. I have yet to try this!!
I also feel depersonalization is due to gaba or dopamine problems. A benzo should fix that, to ease your anxiety and help your well being.
good luck and stay in touch
