Hi Mat,
I was on every kind of Ad (in particular SSRI and Tca) and i couldn't tolerate them cause 2 hevay side effects:
1) somnolence (drowsiness, dizziness)
2) sexual problem (lack of libido)
I think that sometimes lack of libido is worse than depression for your life's quality.
I'm a unipolar depressed NO anxiuos, so the sedative effect of AD was an extremely negative fact for me.
Reboxetine (here in Italy it's brand names are Davedax or Edronax) seems to be the only med that don't give such side effects cause it is absolutely non sedative and currently (after a week) it do not gave me reduction of libido.
I've noticed this right and side effects:
1) more active, higher attention, more mind-focused;
2) a mild sensation of diffused well being;
3) a little more sociability;
4) fresh skin sensation (face, hands, foots).
Side effect, in order of severity:
1) insomnia (i take a little dbz at nite);
2) urinary difficulty (seems to reduce day by day);
3) little difficulty in erection;
4)Heartbeat, palpitation;
5)general sense of mild anxiousness, excitement (you can use a xlow dosage of bdz in the case);
It is too early to notice an eventual anti-depressive effect, but i think that rebox, as it is an activant, it shouldn't have effect on libido but only on erection (like you sayd).
I think that SSRi gave me lack of libido cause of theyr sedative profile.
If you need to know something else let me know, however i'll keep posted in the future days about my trial.
Bye
