I asked my Pdoc for some additional Anti depressant to add to my Prozac. I had a list of some possibilities from postings on this and another web site: (http://biopsychiatry.com/index.html. - The dopamine connection).
My Doc wasn't too receptive to the whole idea of there being a need to be augmenting SSRIs. But he said the most obvious drug to add would be Wellburtrin, or just take Effexor. He did however, say Remeron (15mg so far) would do some things that Prozac doesn’t and he gave me some of that.
Has anyone noticed having more disturbing dreams after starting Remeron? Actually I think it might be that the anti-histamine sedation of the drug is possibly keeping me from waking out of the dream and so I stay stuck in it, continuing to ruminate in some conflicting aspect of my life, instead of waking up. I assume this will lessen with time I hope?In addition to Prozac I take Synthroid, Neurontin, and Seroquel. I take 30mg Prozac (more doesn't seem to do anything-but none definitely feels bad), Synthroid (25mcg)twice a day - works as a mild stiumlant - doesn't make life seem better but it does do alittle perking up, Neurontin 300mg 4 times, and a half of a 25mg Seroquel to aid sleep.
