Hi Andy,It first pooped out about 6 months. I think as Elizabeth may have noted, the medication is not well suited to be administered concurrent with people suffering from depression. Best suited for people with GAD/Panic. I was taking it for treatment of intractable facial neuralgia (mostly tension headache). I don't care, it was worth have an anelgesic. The docs tried to replace it with many anticonvulsants, mostly failures. Topamax has almost an identical action at the GabaA receptor (it increases the flux of chloride ions through the receptor), and is not addictive. When I started Topamax it immediately relieved my myofacial pain and I was able to taper 4 or my 6 mg of Klonopin in 6 weeks. The last 2 mg have been impossible.
Best Regards

> This was the case for you, your tolerance of up to 6mg of Klono, but its true, each case needs to be treated individually. There ARE in fact individuals who have maintained the theraputic effects of a benzo over the course of many years. Their accounts can be found in many different sources including this board. By the way how long was it before they stopped working for you, and what treatment do you now partake in if any?
