neurontin question

Hi,
There has been a question floating about my head about neurontin for a while that I wanted to ask.
In addition to its anticonvulsant activity via enhancement of GABA activity does anybody know whether there is any "solid" evidence that neurontin inhibits glutamate release by inhibiting sodium channels? Ive heard that it may do. Does neurontin have any calcium channel blocking properties? I would be grateful and interested to hear peoples views on this.
