> THANK YOU! Awesome feedback! Your opinion about Klonopin substatiates the recent research I've done and it will be the next suggestion to my doc. Hmmm, Serzone- time to read about that one. Paxil did the same thing to me (killed my sex drive completely). That's not acceptable! :) How does provogil compare to Adderall??
You're welcome!
First, one clarification: When I said I'm currently taking 1.0-1.25 mg Klonopin BID, I should've said 1.0-1.25 *daily*, in two doses (usually 1.0 first thing in the morning and then .25 around 1 or 2 p.m.).
The only other meds I've ever taken as stimulants are small amounts of Wellbutrin and selegiline. Both were indeed stimulating, especially the selegiline, but added back a little anxiety. I can tell you that one difference between the Provigil and Adderall would be cost. If you don't have a liberal insurance plan, Provigil is waaaaayyyy expensive. I don't have ADD myself, but anecdotally, Provigil has shown promise for that disorder. It's especially valuable for my Social Anxiety treatment because it not only gently adds wakefulness and alertness, but also boosts my confidence and enthusiasm. I don't believe you mentioned what kind of anxiety you're dealing with, but if you now benefit from Adderall and tolerate it well, it would seem logical to keep it as a part of your cocktail and see how things go. IF you ever want to read up on Provigil (modafinil) on Medline and elsewhere, you'll find that it seems to have some interesting and beneficial psychotropic and neuroprotective mechanisms and benefits. The official designation is for narcolepsy, but from what I've read, it's used just as often for other mental disorders. I should point out that a number of people posted here that they didn't have great experiences with Provigil. I'm by no means doubting that it's not for everyone (what is?), but I do wonder if some folks might have been taking too much taking too much, or mistaking the quick passing of a mild-euphoria side-effect for poop-out.
Good Luck!
Rick
