Hmmm. You have both given me some good ideas/ explanations. I'm going to print them off and tell him about them tonight.
He's actually taking some of my old serzone that I had left over, because my doctor explained that serzone can help with the rage problem he's had for quite some time. I've definitely noticed a difference in both a reduction of the rages, and a possible brightening of his mood. He has the name and number of a good neurologist in town that my psychiatrist recommended, and I think he'll give her a call in a week or so. He just wanted to stick his toes in the water with the serzone, because he didn't really like any of the other meds he had tried: haldol, neurotin, and clozapine (I think). I know that letting someone else use your meds isn't a great idea, but my pdoc really felt that serzone would help him, and he has a hard time admitting he has a problem, let alone aggressively seeking out appropriate treatment. I appreciate your input, and I'll post again if we have any more questions. Thanks a lot,
