How many hrs/mins does it take for my AD to work?

I am on 20mg clomipramine. I have been on this stuff for 2.5 months and was wondering, does my nightly dose of 20mg have the ability to change my mood within a few hrs/mins? I was under the assumption that, the medicine was accumulative and that, the total amt. in the blood actually was responsible for behaviour changes?
