hi all - i'd like to offer my experience with anti-depressants, anti-anxiety drugs, sleep meds, thyroid med, and CNS stimulants for anyone with Chronic Fatigue Syndrome. I've responded to some postings but i've missed others. I would classify myself as having residual CFS-symptoms after three awful years of the disease and three not-so-awful years of CFS. I've been a patient of Dr. Paul Cheney and have consulted with Dr. Jay Goldstein, and I'm very well-read, although lately i haven't read as much, cuz i don't need it.
i just really empathize with anyone with CFS, and i think the med needs for people with CFS can be different than for non-CFS people. CFS definitely does very nutty things to your system. I was actually more depressed before and after my intense CFS years, cuz the "below-the-chin" symptoms of CFS were so devastating, and i think the mind can only focus on whatever is one's most intense symptoms at the time. i.e. toothache pain fades after you've broken your back or somesuch.
anyone can reach me on this board or directly at [email protected]. anyone with CFS has a yucky deal, and the disease's mysterious ways wreck hell on anyone's mental health. so if CFS-er's are out there, i understand your needs may be unique.caroline h.
