I certainly understand your fears. I can tell you though, based on my own personal experiences with these drugs, and based on comments from many other people, there is no way you can predict if you will have any side effects, or what kind.
As examples... On Paxil I had sexual desire but could not get an erection. On Zoloft I could get an erection but I had absolutely no desire in sex at all. I beauty in a bikini could stroll by and not interest me whatsoever. With Celexa I had desire and I could get an erection, but it seemed to take forever and ever to finish. It was as if my private parts had become numb. Same with Effexor. Same with Luvox. The only one I hadn't tried was Prozac.
I had heard zillions of horror stories about Prozac and sexual side effects. And based on my bad experiences with all the other meds, I was of course absolutely sure I would have a problem with Prozac. Not sure what kind of problem, but definitely a problem of some kind. Anyway, a week after I started Prozac I realized my sexual desire had actually increased. More than normal. And on top of that, my erections were more powerful than normal. I couldn't believe it. After all the horror stories, this wasn't supposed to happen. But I'm sure glad it did. I just wish I had started with Prozac in the first place, instead of putting it at the back of the line.
Anyway, the moral of the story is that you cannot predict any of these things. It's different with everyone. Don't pay too much attention to what Celexa did to someone else. It will be 3 to 4 weeks before you know how it really affects your sexual life, if at all, so until then just stay on schedule, follow the doc's advice, and see what happens. There's even a chance you could be pleasantly surprised as I was.
