SAM-e, B vitamins.

Posted by mist on December 12, 2000, at 20:34:11

I decided to try SAM-e which I got from Trader Joe's. It's $16.99 for 20 tabs of 200mg each and comes in a glass bottle, not foil blister pack. (Have heard SAM-e deteriorates rapidly if not sealed so don’t know if a glass bottle that’s opened twice a day is sufficient protection.)

I'm wondering if you have to take the B vitamins at the same time you take the SAM-e (for protection against hymocystene build-up) or can you take them at a separate time, with food? If I take B vitamins on an empty stomach they make me feel sick. I have no problem when I take SAM-e by itself on an empty stomach (which you’re supposed to do).

Sublingual B-12 gives me a headache and has made me dizzy in the past (especially after a caffeine chaser) so I would rather limit its use. By the way, anyone know what causes the B-12/caffeine induced dizziness?
