I have a daughter dxed with ADHD, bipolar, and anxiety disorder. Her p-docs have insisted on treating both the anxiety and ADHD before treating the bipolar, and with quite negative results. The meds she has tried for the anxiety/depression, including paxil, wellbutrin, and buspar, have thrown her into mania, the CNS Stimulants, including Ritalin and Adderall, have helped her stop moving, but have increasingly negative effects on her moods and personality.
My advice, make sure it's not bipolar first, and treat it before treating the others, as if you don't and the child is bipolar, you may find yourself with a rapid cycling, hard-to-treat, med-resistant bipolar child. A situation that is not healthy for anyone involved.
