Heavy-duty bipolar depression - treatment-resistant - 20 years
No luck on Seroquel.
My doctor wants to try reboxetine next. He says that he has some patients who are doing well on it. I am currently taking imipramine, Depakote, and Lamictal. He wants to cross-over from the imipramine to reboxetine.
Has anyone had long-term (1-year plus) success with reboxetine (Edronax, Vestra)?
I was getting real excited about trying reboxetine until I began to read the many posts describing the sexual side-effects, which include some rather potent impotence. These people wrote more emphatically about these side-effects than I have seen written by most people taking SSRIs.
I am also discouraged that I haven't seen many posts describing a great response to it. In addition, the anticholinergic/noradrenergic side-effect profile doesn't seem to be much better than that of the tricyclics.
I was hoping to get some feedback regarding both its effectiveness in people who have a history of treatment-resistance and the degree and duration of any sexual side-effects.
Thanks all.
